Race Details:

Mt Shasta.  With the peak hitting 14,180 ft- it draws you in and gets your adrenaline pumping.  Between epic single track and remote/trail like forest road your adventure on the mountain awaits.  For the FIRST time ever- come hit the trails and put your body and mind to the test.  Choosing from our 10k, 30k, 50k or 50 mile- you cant go wrong.

Course Description:

10k:

  • From Start Line- Continue on Gateway Trail for 3 miles until you reach the Aid Station 1. Fuel up at the Aid Station and you will then take a hard RIGHT as you leave.  You will then proceed on the Gateway Trail back towards the Finish!

 

30k:

  • From the Start- Head down the Power Line Trail and make your way to the Gateway Trail for about 2.6miles. Then take a LEFT on Forest Rd 40N16Y and you will take it UP to Everitt Memorial Hwy and Aid Station 1 at mile 4.7. Go across Everett Memorial and make your 2.5 mile climb UP 41N56 (is an out and back) Once you reach the turn around point- make your way back DOWN to Aid Station 2 (Same as AS1).  Cross the road and head back DOWN 40N16Y and keep LEFT to get to Aid Station 3 at mile 11.4.  Head LEFT and follow Gateway Trail.  You will take a slight RIGHT onto Forest Road and then LEFT onto Pig Farm.  Continue over Tunnel Trail and ONTO My Trail.  You will then take a LEFT onto Marley Trail where you will reach Aid Station 4 at mile 15.25 (same as AS2) Fill up, head LEFT on Gateway Trail until you find your way back to the FINISH!

50k:

  • From the Start- Head down the Power Line Trail and make your way to the Gateway Trail for about 2.6miles. Then take a LEFT on Forest Rd 40N16Y and you will take it UP to Everitt Memorial Hwy and Aid Station 1 at mile 4.7. Take a RIGHT onto Everett Memorial Highway- pass by Aid Station 2 and make your way up to Forest Road 40N25 where you will take a RIGHT.  You will then reach Aid Station 3 at mile 9.7.  Continue down the forest road until you make a LEFT onto 40N65 and make your way on a 4 mile climb UP to the top of Gray Butte.  Take in the EPIC views at Aid Station 4 at mile 16.1 and then head back down the way you came.  At the bottom of the hill turn RIGHT onto 40N65, fuel up again at Aid Station 5 (same as AS3)   Take a slight RIGHT to stay on 40N25 until you reach Everett Memorial.  Take a LEFT and continue to where you reached AS1 and make a LEFT down 40N16Y.  Take your RIGHT onto Gateway Trail and continue to the FINISH!

50 mile:

  • From the Start- Head down the Power Line Trail and make your way to the Gateway Trail for about 2.6miles. Then take a LEFT on Forest Rd 40N16Y and you will take it UP to Everitt Memorial Hwy and Aid Station 1 at mile 4.7.  After fueling up- safely cross the street and make your way UP Forest Rd 41N56 for an Out and Back.  You will grab a flag at the turn around point- Mile 7.2 and make your way back down. Continue LEFT along Everett Memorial Highway and you will reach Aid Station 2 at mile 12.  About mile 15.3 you will turn LEFT onto Forest Road 41N60 and head your way up and through Sand Flat.  Take in the VIEWS as it wraps you around to Bunny Flat- Aid Station 3 at mile 18.5.  You then take a RIGHT on Everett Memorial Hwy and make your way DOWN to mile 20.25 and take a LEFT onto Forest Road 40N26Y.   You will reach Aid Station 4 at mile 23.  Fuel up and then continue your way until you take a LEFT onto 40N65 where you now make your climb UP to Gray Butte!  At the summit you will have EPIC views of Mt Shasta and can refill at Aid Station 5 at mile 29.5.  When you are ready- time to hammer your way back down the way you came.  At the bottom take a RIGHT back onto 40N26Y.  You will then hit Aid Station 6 (same spot as AS4) at mile 35.8.  Head LEFT onto 40N25 and take it until you reach Everett Memorial Hwy.  Go LEFT and run down Everett Memorial until you will be going LEFT (where AS1 was located) onto 40N16Y.  As you head down- Keep LEFT and make your way to Aid Station 7 at mile 42.7.  Continue LEFT onto Gateway Trail.  You will then go LEFT onto Pig Farm, cross OVER Tunnel Trail and onto My Trail.  You will then take a RIGHT onto Tunnel Trail and shortly after a LEFT onto Stump Trail.  Continue on StumpTrail- STRAIGHT onto Marley Trail where you will reach Aid Station 8 (same as AS7) at mile 47.6.  Fuel up for the last time Make a LEFT onto Gateway Trail and continue on to THE FINISH!

STR Goes Cupless! In an effort to do our part in minimizing waste on and off the trails there will no longer be paper cups for water/soda/tailwind use but you will need to carry your own cup and/or water bottle to utilize at each aid station. It’s lightweight, easy to hold, reusable and collapsible so you can tuck it almost anywhere

Refund Policy
Entry fees to STR runs are non-refundable. With advanced notice, we will transfer 100% of your entry fee if you reach out to us up to TWO WEEKS prior to the event.  You will be able to transfer 50% of your entry fee from TWO WEEKS up to 96hrs of the event.  You must utilize the tranfer fee within 12 months to another STR Event.  Please email shastatrailruns@gmail.com
