Course Description.

The Resolution Run on 1/1/13 was my 1st real trail race. Mark Swanson, I’ll blame my trail addiction on you. 🙂 Just this year I’ve done a 30 mile “ultra” — the 4 MPH Challenge, a 50K –SOB, and the Sacramento River Trail Marathon. And I’m having a blast!!! Denise Boehle

What a great trail. I am sore today, I guess that’s a good thing. See you at the next one. Great Job and Thanks for bringing me to the great Outdoors of Northern California. No place I’d rather be. Gail Vogelsong

Perfect, wouldn’t change a thing!! Betty Cain

Thanks for a GREAT TIME. Loved the entire race. I think the starting song really set the mood for a fun and enjoyable day on the trail. Lee Ann Paul

That was a fun course and I agree with Lee Ann Paul about the song and the mood. Great time. Terry Grafe

Turn left on to Bear Mountain Road and travel eight and a half miles to the junction of Dry Creek road. At the stop sign turn left and follow road north, in one mile you will come to a Y, veer right and continue two miles to the end of the road.  If you use Google Maps, enter “Jones Valley Campground” as your destination and proceed past it to the parking lot at end of the road (about 1.5 miles).

  1. The road crossings will be manned. There are only two trail junctions and they will be very well marked. Other than that its very simple, if you are on a trail, you are on the course!

  2. I think the directions listed above are valid if travelling north on I5. For those travelling south, I believe it it a LEFT turn onto Old Oregon Trail.

  3. Mark,
I’ve been checking the site frequently for links to the Jan 1 2014 half marathon and haven’t seen any. Is registration available somewhere else?
    Thanks,

    Drew

    • There will be one aid station at approx the midpoint with water, sports drink and a few snacks. It’s a good idea to carry a water bottle. The cost will be somewhere around $40, registration should be open by the end of the week, right now I’m real busy getting some things done for our Nov 9 race. thx.

  4. Ran 1 loop last week, trail looks great. One of the best parts was running along the lake for quite awhile….alas, water was nowhere to be found, really low levels, but just as scenic and beautiful. Look forward to this!
